Recruiter's Desk

The 54th Pennsylvania Infantry, Co. A is looking for new recruits to fill the ranks. Help educate the public in the history of the American Civil War and the role both men and women played during the war. Honor the veterans by recreating the battles that they fought and died in as well as portraying the civilians they left behind. We are looking for those wishing to become soldiers or civilians, but we are more than willing to work with you to find the impression that most interests you.

The 54th has a "be a reenactor for a weekend program". This program allows potential recruits to come out to an event and be fully equipped for a weekend for free(minus sleeping gear; tent provided). It is a nice way to see if you would enjoy the hobby before enlisting. All ages are encouraged to join, however, you must be at least 16 years of age to handle a weapon or 12 years of age to take the field. Also if you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must attend the event with you. If interested, be inclined to visit the event schedule page to find the event for you.  *Please note, registration and meal fees may apply.

We are a family oriented organization.
We have loaner gear to help get you started.
No geographic residency requirement.
No prior experience or knowledge is necessary.
